I am from Vancouver Island and have been creating original art works for over 40 years. With a focus on Coast Salish design and traditional weaving practices I incorporate elements of my culture into the pieces I design. Starting to sell my art work at a very young age I can’t remember a time that I wasn’t creating. I remember picking different kinds of plants to create unique bouquets as early as the age of five. Though it was more playfulness and the early beginnings of playful design.
With an early interest in medicinal plants and natural healing I studied Herbology, Nutrition, Sports Nutrition and Vegetarian Nutrition giving me a foundation of research when depicting plants in my art work. In 2014 I completed a Bachelor Degree at Vancouver Island University
After taking time to study Organizational Psychology and gaining experience in Arts Administration I find a balance of creating new works of art and working in the administration landscape in BC.
My Vision
My vision is to create beautiful works of art that share my culture, the world around me, and who I am. To also continue to strengthen and create space for Indigenous women so they can take their place in the Indigenous art community in BC.
“May the stars carry your sadness away, may the flowers fill your heart with beauty, may hope forever wipe away your tears.”
